Obituary

Mrs. Helen B. Ellis, age 95, passed on Tuesday evening, June 7, 2022 at her home in Spartanburg, South Carolina.  She was born to the late Roland and Corrie Jackson Thorne.

Left to cherish fond memories are: one daughter, Kathrean Lyles of Spartanburg, South Carolina; 3 grandchildren, Kimberly D. Lyles, Anthony R. Lyles and Kelly T. Lyles; 5 great-grandchildren; Ryan Porter, Ayanna G. McClinton, Aaron Lyles, Isaiah Sanders, Tyler Lyles; and a host of other beloved relatives and many friends.

In addition to her parents and spouse, Mrs. Helen B. Ellis was pre-deceased by 5 sisters, Mamie Wofford, Hattie T. Mooney, Ollie Wilson, Juanita Jackson, and Beatrice Smith; 6 brothers, Buster Thorne, William Thorne, Thomas Thorne, George Thorne, Will Lee Jackson, and James Nesbitt.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, June 16th, 2022, at 2:00pm at Ridgeville Baptist Church, 385 Ridgeville Rd., Inman, South Carolina and burial will be in the church cemetery.

Viewing will be on Wednesday, June 15th 2022 from 3-5p.m. at Callaham-Hicks Funeral Home, 228 North Dean Street, Spartanburg, South Carolina.
